King's Coronation dance

King's Coronation dance

Dance through the decades

King Charles III will be officially crowned King at his Coronation on 6 May 2023.

During the ceremony, the King will be crowned alongside Camilla, the Queen Consort. The 1,000 year old British ceremony is the only remaining event of its type in Europe. Charles had been the heir apparent to the British throne for seven decades. In fact, he held the position longer than anyone in the monarchy's history.

Celebrate with a dance workshop with iconic styles from each of the decades. Children learn 50s juke-box, bop & jive then 60s locomotion, mashed potato and the twist! We move on to 70s disco and line dances, then 80s break dancing, rock & roll and vogueing, 90s hip hop and zumba and into the 2000s with electro pop and modern dance.

We can work with up to seven classes a day. Our professional dancers lead each class in their chosen style and combine the performance in a grand finale.

Celebrate King Charles' Coronation at your school!
